Roy Jones Jr<\/a> has revealed why he knew something was up even before Chris Eubank Jr.<\/a> stepped into the ring with Conor Benn<\/a> for his rematch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This pair of long-time family rivals first fought back in April after more than two years of animosity and one cancelled fight date when Benn tested positive for banned substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When they finally got in the ring, both men put it all on the line in an engaging and high-action 12 rounder that Eubank won on the cards, largely due to his natural size advantages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They went at it again last weekend at the same Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but this time Benn dominated from the off<\/a> with solid jabs, neat boxing and two knockdowns, while Eubank failed to get his own work off.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to FightHype<\/a>, boxing legend Jones Jr, who trained Eubank for a number of years, said the weight difference between the two men was a giveaway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo I didn\u2019t watch the fight. I can promise you that for me, seeing when Chris came in lighter than Conor Benn I kinda read through the script. That told me you\u2019re not really here to win the fight, cause why would you come in lighter than the first time? Y\u2019all complained about being weight-drained and hurt and this time you come in lighter than him. I knew something was wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In the immediate aftermath, Benn claimed the family feud was now over and that he will look to go on to fight for a world title, while Eubank did mention the possibility for a trilogy fight next year. At 36-years-old, time is not on his side.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
